The Outlook mail client has junk filter rules built-in that identify certain characteristics to determine if received mail items are regular, marketing, or junk/spam. Occasionally, certain senders or sender domains are unnecessarily identified as marketing or suspicious when they are business partners.

Users can re-identify these mail items as "Not Junk" for future communications, and ITS can administratively exempt specific sender e-mail addresses from the corporate e-mail filter upon request via the Help Desk.

  • Are the sender e-mail addresses that are being tagged as Junk or Spam from bccc.edu or other domains?
  • Have you right-clicked the message(s), marked them as Not Junk, and added to Safe Senders in Outlook?
